To celebrate Air Max Day 2023, Nike gave people in Japan the opportunity to design their own Nike Air Max 1. Below is the finished product of said design.

The Nike Air Max 1 Design By Japan comes dressed in White, Green, and Orange hues that is a nod to the Nike Sting, a running shoe from the late ’70s. The Air Max 1 is constructed in a mix of premium materials that incluse mesh, leather, and suede. The overall design consists of a vintage look and feel that is evident on the tongues, laces and midsole. Other notable features include the special Gold Air Max 1 hangtags, retro Nike tongue branding, and special graphic insoles that mostly likely read “Design By Japan”.
