Young rising star and adidas athlete Anthony Edwards just unveiled his first signature shoe with adidas at a special event in Atlanta and we have to say the shoe is CLEAN! On deck we bring you official images of the adidas AE 1 in three different colorways of black/white, bright orange, and black/peach. The adidas AE 1 is highlighted by its knit base layer alongside a split tongue construction. What really stands out is the distinguished TPU overlay covered in ventilated holes that extend all across the side panels. Not only does that give the model a unique entity, it also functions as a feature that assists in helping contain Edward’s multi-directional movements. When it comes to the tech on the sole, the AE 1 is believed to be equipped with Boost cushioning tech on the midsole that is then paired up with directional herringbone blades on the outsole for exceptional court grip. As far as branding goes we see “AE” placed on the tongues and oversized adidas branding on the heels.
Anthony Edwards plays for the Timberwolves in Minnesota, but he will always call Atlanta home. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, it only makes sense that adidas unveiled Ant-Man’s inaugural signature silhouette in his hometown. Earlier this year, we got a first look at what was believed to be a sample version of the adidas AE 1. Fast forward to this weekend and we finally get an official first look at Edwards’s first signature sneaker with the Three Stripes as it was officially unveiled during Edward’s Homecoming Celebration at the Tracy Watt Recreation Center in ATL.
