The Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers immediately achieved iconic status when first seen in the summer of 2021 and again at Virgil Abloh’s final LV runway show.
Not hard to see why: they essentially combine three cultural titans (Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh, Nike) into a single potent package, spread out across a plethora of colorways both gaudy and understated.
There’s co-branded text done up in Abloh’s signature style, quotation marks, monogrammed canvas, succulent leather uppers, references to bootleg culture — everything you’d need for a killer collab.
It’s worth considering that the launch was rumored to have been planned for late 2021 to coincide with the aforementioned Louis Vuitton runway show and then postponed out of respect for Abloh’s passing.
Nothing concrete there, of course — Highsnobiety has reached out to Louis Vuitton to confirm or deny the rumored Air Force 1 release dates — but details about these sneakers have been scarce since their reveal despite the impossibly high levels of hype
However, French sneaker reseller @Ready2Cop has intimated that the collaborative kicks are to launch surprisingly soon, pointing to a February 2022 release date.

Bear in mind that Ready2Cop is a sneaker resale site and we can’t vouch for the fidelity of either its predictions or its services.
According to Ready2Cop, it sells “100% brand new and authentic” sneakers from third party sources and is apparently overseen by one Anthony Martin so it’s not immediately clear where it’s getting the LV x Nike release information from.
Still, it’s not an unreasonable prediction.

LV experts had suggested that information about the collaborative AF1s was to be revealed prior to winter and, like I said, it’s entirely possible that the debut was delayed either due to Abloh’s death or perhaps even supply chain shortages wrought by COVID-19.
Similarly, it’d follow that Vuitton would then seek to release the sneakers before debuting its Spring/Summer 2022 collection. That line’s likely to begin arriving in-store and online by February, anyways.

Not much to go on but it’s better than nothing (barely). Either way, once Louis Vuitton’s high- and low-top Nike Air Force 1s drop, expect them to dominate headlines for weeks, if not months to come.
Even only a few days into 2022, I’d say it’s hardly unfair to crown the landmark sneakers as collaboration of the year.
