Han Kjøbenhavn’s fall/winter “Chthonic Penumbra” collection features Diablo-inspired pieces made of faux fur, vegan leather, and feathers, in gray and black hues, as well as vibrant blood-red fabrics, pearls, and chrome accents. The collection’s aesthetic is inspired by the idea of “hell as a beautiful place.”

In an interview with Polygon ahead of the runway show, Han Kjøbenhavn’s creative director Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen and CEO Daniel Søndergaard Hummel spoke about the collaboration and the emotional connection between the two brands. While Han Kjøbenhavn has worked with other labels in the past, Davidsen explained that the brand has become less interested in those kinds of partnerships recently, preferring to focus on collaborations that are more about emotional connection than a product.

The Diablo-inspired collection is a departure from Han Kjøbenhavn’s usual collaborations, but the brand found common ground with the game franchise’s aesthetic. Han Kjøbenhavn is known for its dark and disturbing imagery, imposing silhouettes, and occasional gimmicks. However, Davidsen emphasized that the collaboration was not a one-to-one translation of in-game skins, but rather an attempt to translate emotions into something that can exist within Han Kjøbenhavn’s world.

Overall, the Diablo-inspired collection by Han Kjøbenhavn represents a unique collaboration between two companies that share a certain emotional DNA. Fans of the Diablo franchise and fashion enthusiasts alike will be eager to get their hands on these striking pieces.
