Jessie Ware – Please

Sounds like:
HAIM, Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX

What’s so good?

The Category is – AffectionJessie Ware was one of the top 3 artists listened to when I was creating my identity as a queer individual in modern society, with “Please” all those beautiful emotions came flushing back. The sound of Jessie Ware never strays away from joyful exuberance, they are almost always enjoying themselves, no matter the situation, their music is ‘Queer Pop’ incarnate, a strong bumping beat, a joyful backup of sounds, whispers, conversations, strobes, and slamming club layers. You always hear about a “strut” track – something ingrained in the identity of the fashion and drag scene — a song that throws you into a walk, gives you time to show off and time to be as beautifully flamboyant as you want to. “Please” feels like a 90’s callback strut track. This song is an eclectic pop track throwing us back into those dance hall drag shows, the runway, and the fashion.
