Beshken – Tendryl

Sounds like:
Bearcubs, NoMBe, Catching Flies

What’s so good?

Released as a single ahead of his forthcoming EP of the same name, “Tendyrl,” in Beshken’s own words, is a song about “tumbling through space.” The track elicits a slightly ethereal quality and is almost spiritual in the way it floats and wraps around your thoughts and desires, cradling them softly and then flinging them out into the vast, expansive soundscape of atmospheric electronica that we’ve come to know as Beshken’s wheelhouse. Born in LA and now coming to you from the streets of New York, Ben Shirken, or Beshken as he’s publicly known, is a master of blending elements of indie, experimental dance, ambient, psychedelia, and dream-pop, and does so in a way that is truly unique. He dances, chameleon-like, through genres and tempos, creating an ever-evolving oeuvre that defies categorization.
Beshken has shared the stage with big names in electronica including Macintosh Plus, XXYYXX, Men I Trust, Crumb, and Gus Dapperton. Following his 2017 EP, For Time is the Longest Distance Between Two People, he released two singles, “Victim” and “The Medicine,” and shortly after emerged with his debut record, Aisle of Palm, which took a deep dive into unpacking the transitional states between places and within one’s self. Tendryl is his latest offering, due out April 17th, and self-released on his own label, 29 Speedway.
