What’s so good?

It’s pretty rare for a track to get you on your feet and grooving your butt off a mere 30 seconds in, but that’s Flight Facilities for you. With the addition of Compton rapper Channel Tres, this hip-hop-inspired deep house track knows no bounds and completely knocked me off my feet from the get-go. ‘Absolute banger’ does not even begin to cover the brilliance that “Lights Up” oozes.

The 90’s Detroit house and West-Coast hip hop influences are obvious and intricately intermingle in a way that is equal parts nostalgic and new-school. Flight Facilities echo this sentiment in a statement explaining:
“We felt it was important to keep enough of our sound and influence in the track, to avoid it sounding too derivative, so we wanted to include some 90’s and 00’s elements to give the song its own character.”
And they absolutely freaking nailed it.
In that same statement, the duo says about Tres:
“His voice has a magical ability to make songs that are made for strutting.”
They’re damn right, too. This track is dripping with swag. Have a listen, and get strutting.
