After leaking a few weeks ago, Nike has officially unveiled the Nike Air Max 1 Sketch To Shelf which will be releasing this weekend. Releasing in at least three different colorways, today we bring you an official look at the OG University Red pair that drops in a few days.
Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield pioneered the design for many notable Nike silhouettes, but one shoe in particular forever changed the game. The shoe that introduced visible Air to the world had to start somewhere, and “Sketch to Shelf” brings Tinker Hatfield’s original Air Max 1 sketches to life. The mudguards and swooshes aren’t filled in completely and the tongue tab features Hatfield’s first Air Max logo concept. Handwritten notes throughout walk you through Hatfield’s vision, and a “SKETCH, PROPERTY OF NIKE NOT FOR RESALE” text graphic is noted on the inner lining. This pair comes done in the OHG White/University Red colorway.
