Bastien Keb – Alligator

Sounds like:
Bon Iver, Keaton Henson, The National

What’s so good?

The Band at Disaster’s EndsIt took me two days to write about this song — it had been swirling and sinking into my brain like a piano tied to an anchor and it just won’t let my brain go.The opening line is all about the inevitable: the end is here, so stop fighting. It’s a melancholic observation of a moment we’ve all been at, a moment a lot of us don’t want to visit again. It does however approach this moment with a beautiful melancholy that I just can’t get rid of.I can’t let go of this song, it’s my partner going down and I’m going down with them — the water is warmer when we hug.The boat is going down and I just want to watch it sink.
