Blac Chyna just got her second visit from the LAPD in just as many days. As we reported, the police originally stopped by Chyna’s home on Sunday evening (January 20) after an anonymous caller said that she was drunk to the point of utter intoxication and could not watch her child, Dream Kardashian. When police arrived, all was well. Dream was safe, Chyna was not intoxicated, and a nanny was home regardless to help care for the child. Allegedly, Chyna was in an argument with members of her team, which may be the catalyst for the anonymous call. Now, TMZ is reporting that the LAPD visited Chyna’s home once more on Monday (January 21) due to another dispute.
R. Kelly’s alleged non-disclosure agreement for his sexual partners was acquired by The Blast, and the specifics are as vague and questionable as you would assume. This entire R. Kelly discussion began after Lifetime aired their docuseries Surviving R. Kelly, which became a nationwide wakeup call and sensation. Collaborators and former friends of Kelly began to turn their backs on him, and his pending criminal investigations are looming close to home. The new discovery of what is alleged to be Kelly’s NDA may only damage the R&B singer’s legacy even further.
Avengers: Endgame will be the biggest movie of the year. Its predecessor, Infinity War, was a force that sucked in millions of people that hadn’t kept up with the previous 18 films. Thanos ascended from nerd fantasy villain to pop culture phenomenon on a level akin to Darth Vader’s rise to cultural dominance in the 70s and 80s. Infinity War was more of Thanos’ story than anyone else’s. He had the most screentime by far, and dictated the entire plot directly or through his minions. By the time the movie ended, it left everyone in the theater in shock. Marvel Studios captured the audience on the first go-round, assuring that Endgame would match the box office juggernaut. As the release of the film get nearer, more leaks surface online. Like usual, the new leak comes via a toy drop.
Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will launch this Summer in California, and Disney World will open an identical park in Orlando later in the year. The new theme parks will be The House of the Mouse’s first Star Wars based section which encompasses 14 acres per park. The park will recreate the Black Spire Outpost, a spaceport on Batuu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Marvel Entertainment comic book based on Galaxy’s Edge will be released prior to the park opening. Disney and Marvel will introduce the audience to the outpost through a mini-series that acts as a guide and precursor to entering the park.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a special holiday with relevance that only continues to become more apparent in our everyday lives. Of course, things have improved for African Americans since the assassination of Dr. King fifty years ago. Still, the words of the late leader ring true today. Dr. King was on a mission to battle financial inequality when he died. He was a critic of capitalism and believed a democratic socialist system would root out systematic and institutionalized racism that he believed was tied to American politics.
It’s a free country, but those who have voiced any kind of support for R. Kelly aren’t protected from the backlash that comes with it. Kelly’s entire legacy is being torn down, slowly, since the premiere of the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R. Kelly. The authorities are attempting to build a case against him for sexual misconduct in Chicago and Atlanta, and he been canceled from the culture. It was reported that R&B goddess Erykah Badu placed her support behind R. Kelly during a show. Attendees at her show in Chicago say that Badu asked whether a victim of Kelly turned abuser should receive the same amount of scrutiny. She also sent a prayer up for Kelly, saying, “I’m putting up a prayer right now for R. I hope he sees the light of day if he’s done all the things that we’ve seen on TV that these ladies are talking about.”
