Banksy Shares New Mural in Ruined Ukrainian Building in Borodyanka
It has been rumored all week that the elusive street artist Banksy was in war-torn Ukraine after a series of murals done in their style popped up around the country. Banksy confirmed the rumors were true Friday afternoon on Instagram.

It seems like it was only a matter of time that Banksy would be painting on the streets of Ukraine this year, and yet, it still seems remarkable. We have seen the likes of JR in the Ukraine this year, but with Banksy’s history in Palestine, it seemed he would paint in Ukraine during this tumultuous conflict. And although there have been multiple pieces popping up over the last few days on social media, today, Banksy posted a simple piece of a gymnast on a bombed and ruined building in Borodyanka, Ukraine. What it simply reads as is through all the odds, through all the hardships and struggle, through all the complicated moments ahead for the Ukraine, hope does spring eternal.…

In April 2022, it is with great sadness that get-it.studio learned of the Nakagin Capsule Tower’s imminent dismantlement and destruction. This fantastic building has constantly stimulated and fed their imagination. It embodies a retro-futuristic vision of the world whose multiple iterations made a permanent mark on dystopian and sci-fi imagery. Its importance goes beyond its conceptual structure, and despite its removal from metropolitan Tokyo, it deserves to be celebrated.
