London-based duo Pavan drop their new single THE REPLAY, taken off their Debut EP GREENHOUSE GASES, due for release on June the 25th via Dream Diary Records
‘The Replay’ is the new track taken from ‘Greenhouse Gases,’ the debut EP from London-based duo Joe Robbins and Will Lowes, AKA Pavan, which is set for release through Brixton’s Dream Diary Records on June 25th. Their songs are set against a machine-generated backdrop, aiming for beauty in contrast: Robbins’ quivering, eccentric vocals backed by Lowes’ lab coat soundscape. The EP was co-produced with London-based Inxec with valuable guidance form Dream Diary Records owner Olsi Rama.
Both work part-time jobs as gardeners and florists where they gain regular insight into the natural world. The natural world has become the visual backdrop for this EP, creating the context for the sonic world they uniquely create. They hope for you to visualize this as you listen. Live, Pavan plays electronic music without laptops, believing more in the limitations of a sampler and the challenges of manipulating synthesizers live. Also, you can’t check your email on an MPC.
Growing up in a time when communication and gratification were much slower and more real than in our current connected world, Pavan exists to encourage people to look up for a moment, to take in the planet and the people around them. To stick around for the whole song, through detailed production and to return to it, through melody.
