The Nike 1971 Football Boot Makes A Return 50 Years Later

The footwear you see above is named “The Nike 1971”. This is the first ever football (soccer) boot to rock the Swoosh when it dropped way back in 1971 for the retail price of $16.95. Being that it was the first ever Nike soccer boot, it did not hold up that well, especially during cold and wet weather conditions. I guess you can call it, humble beginnings.

Over the years, Nike went back to the drawing board, did more research and testing until they became  the soccer powerhouse that they are today.

With all that being said, Nike has decided to take it back to their roots with the return of the The Nike 1971 football boot. Celebrating the tradition of sports by reviving the classic spikes that revolutionized the world of footballm this pair dons a Black smooth leather upper paired up with White on the Swoosh branding, lining, heel tab and laces. This pair pays tribute to the 1970 FIFA World Cup  judging by the custom branding on both the insoles and tongue tags.
