Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth bring percussion into the spotlight with their new tour and album, beginning in April.
Ghost-Note, the funkier-than-a-mosquito-tweeter-esque band led by Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth, is hitting the road with Polyrhythmics for a 10-date co-headline tour that jumps off on April 7. Beginning in Denver, the ensemble band will ride through the West Coast, culminating with the Soul’d Out Music Festival in Portland, Oregon and a final show in Seattle at the Nectar Lounge.
All this is in support of Ghost-Note’s new project, Swagism, which is sure to be on our playlists and headphones. As Sput and Nate continue their journey into sound, the duo expand their rhythmical voice into a jubilee of music in all of its forms. From the deep-rooted funk of the One by James Brown to Brazilian samba grooves to the legendary riffs and hi-hat snare hits of J Dilla — Swagism is poised to take listeners to another level of mind-blowing music celebration.
“Swagism was recorded in the same way the band developed: start with the base and leave the destination wide open,” Ghost-Note wrote in a press release. “With a growing cast of players bringing fresh new arrangements of sound, Nate and Sput brought in some friends, further altering the end game.” On the project names such as Kamasi Washington, Alvin Ford Jr., Phil Lassiter, Donny Domino and more add their indelible flourishes to an album guaranteed to capture the entire Ghost-Note experience.
