Will You Be Picking Up The Air Jordan 3 Katrina Tomorrow?

The long wait is finally coming to an end as the Air Jordan 3 Katrina/Hall Of Fame will FINALLY be making its debut at retailers tomorrow.

Debuted in 2003 as a PE worn by then Jordan Brand athlete Derek Anderson, this White/Red colorway of the Air Jordan 3 was then brought back in 2006 to help raise funds for Hurricane Katrina relief. Jordan Brand donated a special collection of shoes to be auctioned off in 2006. Included in the collection was a rare pair of White/Red Air Jordan 3s. While this pair was an identical colorway to the PE worn by Derek Anderson, it didn’t include his number and other PE touches. Then in 2009 in celebration of Michael Jordan being inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009, a special “Become Legendary” collection of Air Jordans was curated to be displayed in Springfield, MA. which included this same white/red Air Jordan 3. The Air Jordan 3 Katrina (2018) Hall Of Fame is releasing to the public for the first time since its exclusive charity auction in 2005, and it will also be available for the whole family. The sneaker basically mixes the popular AJ 3 Fire Red and Cement colorways, and while it won’t feature Nike Air branding on the heels, the classic Jumpman logo will be used instead. Final detailing consist of the cement overlay applied on the toe and heel areas, while a white midsole and grey outsole completes the look. Continue reading

Check Out What Went Down During This Weekend’s Jordan Brand Block Party In New Orleans

As part of the upcoming Air Jordan 3 Katrina release, the Jordan Wings program teamed up with local New Orleans educational partners to award 10 scholarships to graduating high school seniors this past weekend. In addition to a scholarship, each student received a special PE pair made to mirror the original 2003 on-court version.
